Nashville Du Run Run
Note to all,
Multi-sport athletes are studs. People that train and race in duathlons and triathlons have my kudos now and forever.
I ran the Nashville Du Run Run this past Sunday morning. I can't think of a better excuse to miss church.
"So where were you Sunday morning? ... Sleep in?"
"Actually I ran two miles in 90 degree weather, hopped on the bike for a 10 miler, then decided to top it off with another two mile run in the aforementioned weather. Which, by the way, climbed to 95 by the time I was finished. So no... I did not sleep in."
It should also be noted that 7 out of every 10 Sundays, I am in fact probably sleeping in.
My goal was to finish the race in under 1:00 hour. Thinking I would run an 7:30 per mile for 4 miles and ride the 10 miles in 30 minutes.
I ran the first two miles at 6:55 pace, finished the bike in 30:44, and ran out of gas for the last two miles at an 8:15 pace. I finished 4th in my age group and 51st overall. Check out the results here.
